Will AMD honor old game code coupon even though it said invalid due to passed 60 days?

So I got a game code from a purchase I made at Tigerdirect for a R7 Sapphire GPU and it came with a few game code card coupon. I didn’t feel the need to play any game until mos later and I mean long time after I purchased the GPU and I’ve decided to redeem those coupon code.

One in particular is the Battlefield 4. I scratched out the code, and entered that code on AMD website, but it said invalid. Now clearly I see that it said on the card, must redeem within certain period of time, but I thought I may try anyways today 🙂 Well it didn’t work.

So I tried to contact AMD and APU support responded and asked me to provide proof of purchase and the actual coupon code scanned clearly. I did all that and submitted to to AMD APU support, let see what they come back with. Below is the email I got from them initially. Stay tuned 🙂

Updated: AMD did not honor my game code redemption, no exception.

Hello,

Please send us a clear image, scanned photo or screen shot of your entire Unique Coupon code along with your receipt/order invoice for your product purchase so we can verify your code/account.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Will Tigerdirect Mcafee honor exact date of 30 days rebate?

*** updated 12/29/2015 *** It’s been three months, and I finally got a confirmation that my rebate will be fulfilled. In fact I saw statuses changes from Declined to Approved! 5-7 weeks for the AE rebate delivery. Will see if they really sending it. Stay tuned for another update!

I think I got a good deal on Tigerdirect for Mcafee multi access antivirus and security protection for my computer. The deal was 2 16gb usb thumb drives, and Mcafee multi access software for $60, but $3 tax which is no big deal.

I will get the $60 back if I enrolled in Mcafee automatic renewal for 10 months.

I tried to enroll but it didn’t work, it said something wrong with my credit card or information. I kept trying with different credit card and so on. In the end I thought because in my house address there’s already an account setup for auto-renewal which will expires in three weeks. So I waited and it expired, and I went back to the new account and tried the new renewal and it work. I don’t know if this is just a coincident where during the time it didn’t go through due to some technical difficulties for a few days.

So I got the information required for the $60 rebate, but it was 30 days period it mus post marked. However I don’t know what was the starting day for a post mark 30 days, is it the purchase date, ship date, received date or date I installed the software? I don’t know, will see. Stay tuned! see I get the $60 rebate 🙂

Rakuten misadvertisement on the Amazon Fire Phone $105?

Yesterday I received a Rakuten email advertising the Amazon Fire Phone for $105 after Savings Coupons (instant) but the price didn’t come out to be as advertised.

Basically I clicked on the advertisement on the email which took me to the Fire Phone and it said $134 minus instant saving of $14, that come out to be $120 not $105. I thought I might clicked on the wrong link, or didn’t follow direction thoroughly, so I tried again and again with careful direction and even with different browser, still no go.

I ended up contacting Rakuten, but they made it harder to get a hold of anyone through the web, help chat is not available, and phone is available but waiting time. I managed to send them a message and got a confirmation email below. As of now no respond from Rakuten.

Rakuten responded, I don’t know what you talking about LOL

Verizon small biz reward program did pay

If you have a business account with Verizon, especially internet package, you can earn rewards through their reward program. You can earn $ here and there, doing survey or making payment, nothing hard and you get points and convert those points into rewards such as gift card, debit card, and so on.

For me personally I’ve been earning additional rewards by doing short surveys, watch short tutorials videos, making online payments, and I’m going to try to earn more by referring people to Verizon $50 per person. However I don’t think I will have any soon 🙂 This blog is very new and I don’t think anyone is reading my writings anymore LOLz.

I think Verizon Fios is the best internet I’ve used thus far, and I’ve been all over, from California to Texas, Pennsylvania to Germany and Taiwan, nothing beat Verizon Fios especially with the upload/download speed matching.

For me for reward payout I use the Debit card, and I use my paypal PayHere to cash it to my paypal account.

Expedia and Hertz rental car charged me double

I have bad experience with both Expedia and Hertz rental car. I booked a rental car through Expedia.com and they charged me immediately including fees. When I arrived to get my rental car with Hertz, things appears to be smooth, but when I returned the car, and I didn’t check the receipt until I got home, and they somehow charged me again even though I gave them my paperwork printed from Expedia.com website at Hertz rental car counter.

I immediately contacted Expedia, and they said they will need me to send proof of the receipt I got charged by Hertz then they can look into it. I sent email with Hertz receipt, and I called Expedia to follow up, and they said they will refund me in 2-3 business days.

A week later, still no refund, so I called Expedia again, and they told me to call Hertz or expect a call from Hertz rental car. At this point, I’m a little upset because it appears that Expedia and Hertz are professional big business but making me their customer run around when they supposed to have communication in place to fix my problem.

Enough with the call, I went ahead and contacted my credit card company whom is Chase by the way. Chase sent me a form to fill out, which is very straight forward, I did, and sent whatever proof I have and within a week, I received reversal credit to my credit card from Expedia.

Several weeks later Hertz also sent me a refund which I believe is the fees Expedia pocket.

Overall, I think I wasted some hours and loss some trust with such large business that don’t care much about their customer when they could have done better. In my case, they should have communicated to one another, Expedia and Hertz instead of asking me to call each one. I will try to stay away from them, but if they have good deal I might have to use them again in the future though 🙂 It’s all about price for me, unless the hassle would damage me greatly, in this case, it doesn’t 🙂

Got approved for AmazonBusiness account

On my previous blog entry in regard to AmazonBusiness account. Doesn’t look like it take 2 to 3 business days for review and approval for AmazonBusiness account. I got approved in less than an hour. Now let see what I can do with it. I’m thinking of getting good discount on products to upgrade and keep my small business running, perhaps also on great deals for resell? probably not.

Anyhow, it’s faster than I’ve expected. Below are the email I got an hour later after requesting for AmazonBusiness.

Applied for Amazon business account

I got an email from AmazonBusiness, asking me to review the benefit of being AmazonBusiness account holder. I reviewed it, and what caught my attention is the $49 order I can get 2 days shipping for free.

So I went ahead and applied for it. The process pretty straight forward, although it will required your EIN (tax id#) for small business, so if you’re not a business owner or doing business as, you probably don’t know what it is, and you may not be qualified. I, myself, don’t even know if I qualified, but I do operate a business, self employ to be exact. I have my EIN and business name listed in the public directory, and even a phone # for my business and off course my home address is a business as well.

Will see what the result will be, but at the end of the application process. Amazon said that it will take them 2-3 business days to validate and confirm my business before letting me be part of the AmazonBusiness group. Free membership by the way.

Below is the message I got from Amazon after filling out the app.
