Hi ,

Below is an important announcement for all clients that hold DAI on Kraken.

On November 18, MakerDAO is expected to launch a new set of smart contracts, changing the way DAI is generated. If you hold DAI on the exchange and wish to participate in this upgrade, you do not need to do anything – client funds will be automatically upgraded between November 19 and December 2. If you do not wish to participate in the upgrade or would like to manage the upgrade yourself, please read the instructions below.

Why is DAI Being Upgraded?

Currently, MakerDAO users can only generate DAI tokens by pledging ETH as collateral. With the upgrade, users will be able to put up other cryptocurrencies as collateral in the MakerDAO system. Once this happens, the upgraded version will be known as DAI, while the old, single collateral version will be renamed ‘SAI.’

It is currently anticipated that the majority of the network intends to migrate to the new smart contract platform and upgrade their systems – this includes Kraken.

What if I Don’t Want to Upgrade?

Clients who do not wish to upgrade must opt-out by withdrawing their funds before November 18. On this date we will suspend all deposits and withdrawals of DAI and any remaining DAI on the exchange will be part of the upgrade.
Once we have completed the upgrade, no later than December 2, deposits and withdrawals of Dai will be re-opened.
Clients that deposit SAI (the single collateral version) onto Kraken after November 18 may not be credited for their deposit. Please take caution to avoid sending the wrong asset to your deposit address as we cannot guarantee that funds are recoverable.
We will keep everyone updated through email, on our blog, and via social media. Additionally, please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions.

Additional information for multi-collateral DAI can be found on MakerDAO’s blog:

UPS latest update on security safety “Changes to USPS Hold Mail Service”

This is good that USPS is taking action on improving security and safety of people using USPS for Mail Hold service, because I can see the process is kind of vulnerable to hackers fraudster and scammers … they can pretend you to redirect mail to the usps post office to pick your mail, in other word steal your mail, yes it’s easy and possible. Very easy actually with a fake ID since USPS I don’t see them checking it with the system at all, just by visually looking at it. So basically now if you want mail hold, you would need an established account and confirmed your identity as you, via phone text or mail confirmation and so on … good job, keep up with the security and safety, keep our mail safe.

Changes to USPS Hold Mail Service

Dear USPS® Customer,

You are receiving this notice because our records indicate that you have previously placed your mail on hold with USPS.

To provide you with greater security, USPS has made several changes to the online USPS Hold Mail™ process. These improvements require additional action from you before you submit your next online Hold Mail request.

What has changed?

To place an online Hold Mail request, you are now required to:

Create or sign in to your USPS.com® account
Verify your identity online through mobile phone passcode verification
-OR-
Request an identity verification passcode to be mailed to your address
Once you have completed the above steps for your current address, you will not have to complete them again and can place your mail on hold by logging into your account.

How should I plan for my next Hold Mail request?

A request to hold your mail can be made up to 30 days in advance. If you are completing the above steps for the first time, USPS recommends scheduling your online Hold Mail request at least a week prior to placing your mail on hold to avoid any issues due to these changes.

You will be able to verify your identity within the online USPS Hold Mail site. If you are unable to complete identity verification, you can still put your mail on hold by visiting your local Post Office™ location. For other options and more details, please visit our USPS Hold Mail FAQs.

To begin an online Hold Mail request, please visit USPS Hold Mail.

Can I verify my identity in advance of a Hold Mail request?

Yes. Customers subscribed to the USPS Informed Delivery® feature have satisfied the identity verification requirement, and no additional identity verification action is required. If you are not subscribed to Informed Delivery, you can sign up for the free USPS Informed Delivery feature*** – the only other USPS feature that currently offers identity verification.

Once your identity has been verified you will not have to complete this step again for your current address and you will be able to place your mail on hold. As an Informed Delivery subscriber, you will also be able to digitally monitor your mail while it is on hold. To learn more and sign up, go to the Informed Delivery Homepage. See more details in the Informed Delivery FAQs.

***Please Note: Subscribing to the Informed Delivery feature is not a requirement to hold your mail. Customers who are already enrolled in the Informed Delivery feature have satisfied the identity verification requirement, and no additional identity verification action is required for these customers. Customers whose address is not eligible for the Informed Delivery feature can still place their mail on hold online, provided the address is eligible for the Hold Mail service and they successfully pass identity verification.

What if I already scheduled a USPS Hold Mail request?

If you placed a USPS Hold Mail request before these changes were implemented your request will not be affected.

If you have other questions related to these changes, please reference our USPS Hold Mail FAQs or Contact Us for more information.

Thank you for being a valued USPS customer.

Sincerely,
Your United States Postal Service

How to search Bitcoin Ethereum crypto wallets on a computer?

It does not matter whether it’s a PC windows computer laptop or Linux, the fire structures naming are pretty much the same for all crypto wallets. The keyword to search for are *wallet*.*, *bitcoin*.*, and search for file name, folder name, all files directories of the hard drive. If any crypto wallet exist you should get a result showing. Maybe try *coin*.* also but I think that’s overkill. However if the wallet is backed up as compressed file such as a zip or rar file and the naming does not contain the above keyword, then chances are your computer will not find it, you would need a better search program to look inside a compressed file as well.

So the over is just for a quick search basic search of any computer that might have a Crypto wallet like Bitcoin Ethereum Litecoin etc… it’s good for curious people wondering if their friends or other people’s computer might have a Crypto wallet in the computer or you purchased a used hard drive and wondering if it has Bitcoin wallet in it before you wiped it, or you can tried to recover a hard drive that might hold a wallet key may have Bitcoin or Crypto in it.

For older windows machine like Windows XP, you can search by right click on the hard drive and select search. For newer windows machine like Windows 7 and up, you can use the search from top right corner or type it directly on the start … For Linux machine you can use grep command, but make sure you are at the root directory with command / slash or so, just make sure you are at root home directory then command grep [options] pattern [files]

blockfi.com latest update “Earn 4.1% APY on up to 500 ETH”

If you’re going to put money into blockfi.com which being hold on gemini cold wallet, then why not just convert your coin to GUSD gemini coin and get a whopping 8% apy? since your coin will be locked you cannot withdraw easily and if something happened like hacking both coins will get impacted, so why not just GUSD and 8%? unless you’re thinking ETH BTC value is better in long term versus GUSD is a stable coin and it does not change, so if you invest $100 you will get straight 8% off of $100 while invest with BTC ETH you get the BTC ETH coins and that coins may go up in value, is that what you’re thinking?

How to fast wipe your hard drive and sell on ebay safely

Easy steps are:

Connect the hard drive, using external usb is fine also.

Using Windows CMD (dos command prompt)

Type in command: diskpart

Then command: list disk

Then select the disk you want to wipe and sell: select disk 1

Then command: clean

Make sure you clean the correct drive. After clean is done, go to “Computer Management” then “Initialize” the hard drive and then “Quick format” is good enough. Your hard drive now wiped clean, next to impossible to recover any data unless you’re like the FBI with millions dollars equipment and tools like the manufacturer even them will be a challenge, no need long deep MRB low level formatting.

Buy anything with Cryptos? through bitrefill gift card? “Bitrefill News – Shopping Cart, Lightning Conference, China Launch…”

So this is great news. Bitrefill have a lot of gift cards products from many top bran or online retailer store including travels like hotels airbnb and car rental, whatever you’re looking for, Bitrefill might have it, if not the exact retailer name but at least similar retail that would have the same item you’re looking for. In term of privacy, I would say it’s semi private, since if authority want to track you down, they can go to the retail store or where you spend your gift card and do a backward trace or vi-versa forward trace they can track you down, but it will take time, however I would not worry about this unless you did something so wrong or totally wrong that would trigger an investigation. Other than that it is somewhat semi-private anonymous, but it is traceable, so be careful, don’t do wrong things, then you have nothing to worry about.

This update Bitrefill completed by adding shopping cart, you can now buy multiple items and paid at one time. For instant, let say they max airbnb gift card you can purchase is $100 max per purchase, now you can add multiple $100 airbnb gift card into your shopping cart at bitrefill and pay for it at one time instead of previously if you need $1000 worth of airbnb, you will be doing the purchase check out 10 times manually that’s a waste of time. So kudo to bitrefill! however fees still a bit high though, I wouldn’t buy Bitcoin or other Cryptos to buy Bitrefill gift card to buy something like airbnb, because for $1000 use you will be paying additional $40-$50 in fees to Bitrefill and blockchain, I guess that’s how they make money. If you have cash, just guy the items directly from the retail store, if you have cryptos want to be semi anonymous go ahead and use Birefill, otherwise go cash your Bitcoin cryptos through coinbase and pay your tax and you have cash to do whatever you want, it’s up to you, the power of freedom and choices, so make the right choice folks, don’t cheat, know the risk and ask yourself if you can afford the risk?

Yahoo forums (group) changes “Evolution of Yahoo Groups”

On Wednesday, November 6, 2019, 07:54:33 PM EST, Yahoo [email protected] wrote:
Yahoo!
Dear Group Moderators and Members,
Thank you for your commitment to Yahoo and for helping us define the power of digital communities. Eighteen years ago, we combined the functionality of a site called eGroups.com with a precursor community platform called Yahoo Clubs to launch Yahoo Groups. Since then, you and millions of others have helped prove our hypothesis, by creating and joining more than 10 Million groups.
A lot has changed about the Internet since 2001, including the ways most people now use Yahoo Groups. Today, most Yahoo Groups activity happens in your email inbox, not on the bulletin boards where Yahoo Groups started in the pre-smartphone age. Increasingly, people want content and connections coming directly to them, and this is why we continue to invest in Yahoo Mail — including the recent launch of a new Yahoo Mail app that is currently the highest-rated email app in the App Store and Google Play.
So, as our users’ habits have evolved, we have begun the process of evolving our approach to help active Yahoo Groups thrive and migrate to our email platform. To help you plan for these changes, below is the schedule of how this transition will happen.
Beginning October 28, 2019:
Users will be able to join a Yahoo Group only through an invite from the Group Moderator or by submitting a request to join a Group, which requires approval by the Group Moderator.
Since we are moving Group communication from posting on message boards to email distribution, uploading and hosting of new content will also be disabled on the Yahoo Groups website.
Beginning December 14, 2019:
All Groups will be made private and any content that was previously uploaded via the website will be removed. We believe privacy is critical and made this decision to better align with our overall principles.
If you would like to keep any of the content you’ve posted or stored in the past within your Yahoo Group, please download it by December 14 by accessing this link.
As these dates get closer, we will send follow-up reminders. More information about the upcoming changes can be found here.
While this evolution of Yahoo Groups is inspired by how we see the platform being used today, we know change can be difficult. Here are a few important facts as we make this transition:
Yahoo Groups is not going away – We know that our users are deeply passionate about connecting around shared interests, and we are evolving Groups to better align with how you use it today.
New groups can still be formed – Users can continue to connect with others around their common bonds and interests. From animal rescues to sporting and activity groups, civic organizations to local PTAs, members of our Yahoo Groups will remain connected and able to share their activities and interests. All of the content that you have shared previously on the website, can continue to be shared via email.
We know that Yahoo Groups is an important online extension of your real-life group of friends, interests and communities, and we are committed to supporting communities that rely on Yahoo Groups. Thanks for coming along with us this far. We look forward to seeing where the technology — and you — take us in the decades to come.
Sincerely,
The Groups Team
