How to install Ethereum 2.0 staking (POS) and running it on testnet prysm goerli.

The installation is relatively simple to me, and I think if I can do it, anyone can do it with a little bit of computer knowledge. If you don’t like reading especially from my writing, you youtube https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=ethereum+2.0+prysm

I’m using an old computer sitting around, it’s a Core2 vPro with 4GB Ram, 160GB hard drive. I installed Ubuntu 18.04.4 desktop version. Then I installed SSH server, then install git and curl just in case you don’t have it because it is required through prysm.

The next step is pretty much step by step procedure from here https://prylabs.net/participate

If you need help go to discord channel mentioned on the link above https://discord.gg/YMVYzv6

Following the direction here https://prylabs.net/participate, step 1 “Get Prysm” run this script on your ubuntu ssh or terminal “git clone https://github.com/prysmaticlabs/prysm && cd ./prysm“. Step 2 “Get GöETH — Test ether” You can use Metamask or Portis wallet does not matter, test funds will be sent to your wallet, if failed contact someone in discord they will send you some testing fund of ETH. Step3 “Generate a validator public / private key” type in this command in ubuntu ssh terminal “./prysm.sh validator accounts create –keystore-path=$HOME/validator” follow the direction in there. Step 4 – Start your beacon chain & validator clients, I opened 2 sessions (terminal) ssh, one type in script “./prysm.sh beacon-chain” and on 2nd session terminal “./prysm.sh validator –keystore-path=$HOME/validator” Step 5 “Send a validator deposit” following the instruction there. Lastly just “Wait for your validator assignment”

Wait for your validator assignment ethereum 2.0 is running with 2 separate terminal ssh sessions

If anyone is reading this and need help, feel free to message me I will help you out, if anyone is reading my blog at all.

Are you ready for Ethereum 2.0 POS does this mean no more mining Ethereum after June 2020 golive?

Short answer is No more mining Ethereum. According to article published on stackexchange “

Can you still mine ethereum after POS?
When Ethereum switch to PoS (proof of stake) you can’t mine, Ethereum won’t be minable anymore, instead, those who are holding Ethereum Tokens (Ether) will be responsible for verifying transactions, by holding their Ether for a long period, and they get paid for doing this.Jul 9, 2017

How to backup and restore your Bitcore BTX QT upgrade wallet

First of all, do not worry about about getting hack or loss your funds of BTX Bitcore if you encrypted your wallet and back it up offline like on CD Rom multiple one, USB drive I do not trust it so much because it does not have long shelf life. I do not recall QT have seeds words directly, but you can do it indirectly though which is a bit complicated.

So once again you should always have a copy of your wallet.dat file for your Bitcore QT wallet and ensure it is encrypted and above all remember your password when you encrypted it. Pick a password any password that you always remember or know even your name or birthday whatever, it is better than having some long password that you will not remember easily, however this is for the QT Wallet only not your other online password method you better pick something not easy to guess for that case. For QT wallet if you do not disclose who you are the owner of the wallet chances are even if hacker have your wallet.dat file they will not be able to guess it easily, it’s better to have a password then no password at all encrypted that wallet.dat file.

Make sure you always have your wallet.dat file saved offline somewhere, I recommend CD-ROM. For Bitcore BTX, the latest wallet odarhom, you can download and install, let it download all the transactions, then once done, you can close it then go to your %appdata% folder in windows (windows 10 does not work for this at the moment, so any previous windows will do) you will find the wallet.dat file, just replace that file or delete it and replace it, then open your Bitcore BTX wallet again it will detect your new wallet and voila your Bitcore BTX coin is restored. Make sure your wallet.dat is encrypted, always encrypt it with a password, any password will do, it’s better to have one then not and do not ever go to debug console and type in command you got from someone or some website, only do so if you know exactly what it does.

Lastly, sadly Bitcore BTX developer been working hard and always update its users unfortunately it does not gain much popularity in term of being in the top 100 coins, not even top 500, but a lot of people still have faith and following its development. There is really only one exchange for it, hitbtc, and the other one crex24 which does not support usa base users.

New Bitcore BTX QT wallet odarhom Connecting to peers …. problem issue?

Easy fix if you have Windows 7 64 bit, just right click and run this wallet as Administrator.

First of all, Bitcore BTX is not the same as Bitcoin Core, these two are different. BTX is Bitcore, and Bitcoin Core is Bitcoin https://bitcoin.org/en/bitcoin-core/

I believe this is a known thing, not really an issue or problem, but the way the app software was created all QT related wallet probably not a windows approved application to be run without Administrative right would required to be manually select and run as Administrator. For my case all I had to do was right click on the qt wallet .exe file Odarhom then run as Administrator and voila it started to download syncing the 3 years transaction, it is running now, not sure how long to download it, well it’s still better than downloading the entire Bitcoin QT wallet, since Bitcore BTX is much smaller.

My intention is to check out their MasterNode program.

I installed Odarhom wallet on my win 7 pro computer, opened it but it’s been sitting “Conneting to peers ….” wallet didn’t download or update syncing for 2 days now any idea on how I can fix?

Hello. It sounds like a firewall issue and or admin rights are needed. Add it to the exclusion list if it is your firewall/virus scanner

Teaching kids to save Bitcoin as investment is not a bad idea

Currently April 2020 and Bitcoin is almost 11 years old. Bitcoin has its up and down, but it had gained popularity over the years as alternative investments to the traditional market like stocks, index funds, 401k, and so on. The technology behind Bitcoin is blockchain, and it is no doubt stable, real, transparent, and so on … Bitcoin is running on the blockchain.

So the question is, is teaching kids to save Bitcoin as investment is a good idea? I think so. Because in the early day year 2009, Bitcoin price as at 10 cent then $1 then $10 then $100 then $1000 then $10,000 then $20,000 dropped down to $10,000 down to $2,500 then stabilized at $6500-$7000 for a long time now. Today with the pandemic going on (covid-19 coronavirus) Bitcoin still doing better than stocks and other investments. Bitcoin now also have the similar trend as stock market or better, meaning it’s being welcome to the world of investment, stock down, bitcoin slight down, stock up, Bitcoin up big time … so why get at least 1 bitcoin for you kids 10-18 years later it might have more value than the traditional college fund. However there are risk that Bitcoin may not be going any higher, no one really know, so is stocks and other investments we never know, could we have another pandemic like this (covid-19 coronavirus)? you betcha! there will be chances of another big crisis like this covid19 coronavirus no doubt, so as you can see there are risks everywhere everything, so why not with Bitcoin. Just invest safely, don’t sell your house like others people and put it all into Bitcoin, it’s like betting your house on a gambling table 50/50, probably not a good idea.

“On 3 January 2009, the bitcoin network came into existence with Satoshi Nakamoto mining the genesis block of bitcoin (block number 0), which had a reward of 50 bitcoins.”

“Because Bitcoin is on the internet, they are even easier to steal and much harder to return and trace. Bitcoin itself is secure, but bitcoins are only as secure as the wallet storing them. Investing in bitcoin is no joke, and securing your investment should be your top priority.”

“Cryptocurrencies are much easier to own than stock. Even though most investors and traders do purchase a derivative of stock, the stock itself is not with the user. This means to properly own stock, you cannot just purchase the asset on an exchange. … With cryptocurrencies, the process is usually much easier”

Here we go again with yobit.net another IEO YoBit Pump in 23 hrs! PUMP and DUMP

Yep it’s your famous trading platform the pump and dump coins platform, coins that only exist in their platform, get in and get out fast! NOT!!!! a while back you could probably get into these platform coins get in fast and when you see profit get out fast then wait for another announcement of new coins pump and dump, but now a day it’s a bit harder than that, you get in wait for pump but you cannot dump that easily due to various issue such as platform functionality issue or the price you set to sell even at market value didn’t go through, or if set at market value thinking it will go through good price, not!! most of the time you will be wasting your time at yobit.net if you’re new.

Blockfi.com latest update “Get $50 in free BTC when you trade with BlockFi – One Week Only”

Let me first say that chances are you will not get $50 in BTC from blockfi.com if you read their terms of service on the promo “BlockFi Promotional Terms” – “BlockFi will pay a maximum of 2,000 clients on a first com” notice they said in fine print maximum of 2000 clients, will you be in the 2,000 clients? are they having less client or something, I mean 2,000 clients is nothing for such a platform so chances are you will not get it because you don’t really know if you will be among the 2000 clients it’s not transparent on who will and will not during the activities.

“BlockFi clients who trade $1,000 or more in notional value of qualifying crypto during the promotion period (4/21/20 – 4/27/20) are eligible to receive $50 in BTC. The $1,000 notional value will be tracked as a sum of qualifying trades placed during the promotion period. Qualifying trades must be crypto to crypto, crypto to stablecoin or stablecoin to crypto (stablecoin to stablecoin trades do not qualify). Maximum of one bonus per client. BlockFi will pay a maximum of 2,000 clients on a first come, first serve basis. Bonuses will be credited by May 1 and will be based on the prevailing market price of bitcoin at the time of credit.”

Blockfi.com so far is legit, however please be real extra careful and understand that blockfi.com is not like bank with FDIC ensured although blockfi.com indicated and confirmed by GEMINI that the coins you deposit are secured in Gemini, however blockfi fine also indicated they’re not responsible for any hacking to their platform result in loss of all you coins.

SO WATCH OUT FOR FINE PRINTS

ebay helping sellers through the coronavirus covid-19 “Payment Deferral and Repayment Dates”

RE:
Hi :
You have been approved for a payment deferment of $ 77.35 for your Covered Fees on your next invoice. As an additional way to help support you through this challenging time, we are also splitting up the repayment of that deferred amount over your next two billing cycles.
Here’s how it will work:

eBay will remove the covered deferred seller fee amount of $ 77.35 that was originally part of your 31 March 2020 invoice.
After 30 days, eBay will apply $ 38.67 of that deferred amount back on to your account and will be part of your 30 April 2020 invoice.
The remaining $ 38.68 will be applied to your 31 May 2020 invoice.
Reminder: You will still receive your regular invoice and any fees that were not deferred, and any new fees generated after the deferral period will still need to be paid as usual. Note: The invoice balance will still include the deferred amount for visibility but will not be due until the invoice dates noted above.
If you have an automatic payment method on file, you don’t need to do anything further, just ensure there are funds available for your automatic payment method.
We hope this arrangement is helpful to you in this challenging time.
Thank you for being a part of our community and for selling on eBay.

yobit.net pump coin “YoPony & Weekly YoPump in 118 hours!”

If don’t know yobit.net by now, you should know by now, although yobit.net is not a scam, but their way of coins exist in their platform only making some new users think it’s the same coin outside of the platform, nope, it’s not. So be careful when playing on yobit.net platform with the IEO ICO of new coins, it’s all pump and dump coin, pump really high and then dump and eventually coins worth nothing and new one coins created repeat the same process. The method of going in and go out quick no longer work as the volume became less and less and harder to get in and out quick.
